President Bush,
Congratulation's on a solid victory. It does pain me to say that, but it is deserved. Now, my diatribe... President Bush, please take your win and try your best to heal our country's wound. What wound? Please note you did not win a complete mandate (51%). There are still 48% of us voting public that believes you'd be better off retired. You can choose to heal this wound, or exacerbate it. To Heal: It would help if you moved toward the center. It would help if you knew that the majority of voters are fairly liberal on social issues (even Republicans). Things like the environment, assisting the working poor, and ensuring fellow Americans are getting their basic needs. You may even want to revisit the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, or the treaty banning land mines, or the Kyoto treaty, or maybe the International Criminal Court, and even imposing labor and environmental standards in our trade agreements. I'm not saying sign up outright, just move somewhat on them. Maybe, just maybe, you might even consider adding a few environmentalists to the ranks of the EPA, to help balance out all of the business lobbyists you've added. To Exacerbate: Just keep on trucking! Do what you've been doing. Never allow dissenting opinion. Basically, a repeat of your last four years. And now with a majority government, It would be even more tempting to take this path. Let us see which path you choose. Regards! |
My fellow Americans,
WTF! (some Internet slang i picked up from the kids) What have I learned about slightly more than half of the voting peoples of this great nation? I learned that slightly more then half of us voters:
Yikes! Fear not my fellow Liberals, we will be back! I believe they (Conservatives) have loaded a gun with low paying jobs, higher crime, and eroding freedoms. I believe that they will take this gun and shoot themselves in the proverbial foot (my guess the shooting will be the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade). But let us not rest on our laurels, waiting for this to happen. Let's build upon our efforts achieved in only the last year. We will stay involved, organized, and focused. Now more then ever, this country deserves our efforts. Let's start by dropping those crazy voting machines (please see blackboxvoting.org) and go to a totally paper ballot, and or perhaps optical scan machines with better safeguards. Also, why not, just to be sure, help them recount Ohio's vote at HelpAmericaRecount.org. To the 51%, craptastic! "It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion." --Adam Smith To our 48%, Don't loose hope! Regards! |

For your information, yes I want John Kerry to win. These signs are just a way to highlight the trouble we are in after four years of Bush. If you ask yourself an honest question- "are we Americans better off then four years ago?" The answer is a resounding NO!
We are financially troubled, and yet we act with irresponsibility. We were wrong about weapons of mass destruction, and have shown no humility. Our EPA is now run by the very lobbyists that have for years tried to weaken our environmental laws. The world has become an even more dangerous place, one in which I'm afraid to travel in. <sarcasm> The only upshot is we are now the most hated nation on earth </end sarcasm>. I believe there is still such a thing as accountability, and it is up to us to enforce it. This November let's fire Bush.
What's a anti-pro-Bush sign?I'd thought i'd add this for people who ask. Here's how i think of “anti-pro-Bush”. The sign/message should at first appear to be “pro” Bush. However, the message itself is ironic. This is the “gotcha” or “anti” part. They are designed to evoke a negative reaction to the Bush administration's policys. If you're an undecided voter, perhaps this will irk you... and you'll vote for Kerry. If you're a Democrat, perhaps you'll not only vote for Kerry, but try to increase the turn out. If you're a Republican who's having second thoughts about Bush, perhaps the messages will get you thinking about Bush's failed policys, and vote your conscience (for Kerry or - at the very least - against Bush). Finally, if you're a staunch Bush supporter, i think you'd just find the message funny (in that 'Yeah, in your face, liberal!' kind of way). That last part is what drove me. The pompous, i know better, shoot first, worship my God, kind of Blind support Bush seems to thrive on. So, if you (or anyone) has some ideas, please email them to me. |
